Ii’m just going to summarise what Wordpress 2.6 has to offer, you can read about the details here

The new features added are:

Here’s a list of smaller features:

A completely revamped image control to allow for easier inserting, floating, and resizing. It’s now fully integrated with the WYSIWYG.
Drag-and-drop reordering of Galleries.
Plugin update notification bubble.
Customizable default avatars.
You can now upload media when in full-screen mode.
Remote publishing via XML-RPC and APP is now secure (off) by default, but you can turn it on easily through the options screen.
Full SSL support in the core, and the ability to force SSL for security.
You can now have many thousands of pages or categories with no interface issues.
Ability to move your wp-config file and wp-content directories to a custom location, for “clean” SVN checkouts.

You can toggle between the Flash uploader and the classic one.

Stronger better faster versions of TinyMCE, jQuery, and jQuery UI.

In case of emergency *touch wood*, if you are alone and no one is with you and you are sent to the hospital. Assuming that your mobile phone is with you, the emergency room doctors will definitely want to track down your family to inform them about your misfortune.

Found this useful tip in the Internet:
Since mobile phones are so common these days, hospitals now often search through mobile phone’s address books for clues about whom to contact. So, take a moment to add ICE(In Case Of Emergency), a simple acronym, into your contacts/address books on your cell phone or PDA, and enter the person(s) contact information in the event of an emergency.

I’m very sure that many of you out there own a Canon Ixus or Powershot, these two models have infamous “problem” called E18. This happened when the lens cannot retract and when you take pictures, it cannot focus, then later your LCD display will be blank and you will get “E18″ on the bottom left of it. It’s good to know that this is not the end of the world for your camera, it can acutally be fixed easily. Canon won’t fix it free for you unless you still have your warranty, if you don’t they will definitely charge you a bomb for it.

If you would like to learn how to Repair Canon E18 Error, here’s a very good website. Thanks to this website that I’m relieved that my camera is still alive. I had tried all the methods to no avail. The last resort is to dismantle it and then place everything back together. I didn’t dismantle it myself, I’ll be sending it to some camera shops to get it dismantle because I don’t want to take the risk.

I hope you will find e18error.com useful. I’m so glad I found it!

You have Entrecard? Here’s something important that you should know about it. They have found out that many people is using Quick Drop Pages to get people to drop their Entrecard to them and earn the credits which this is considered as illegal way to do so. It goes against the spirit of Entrecard.

What is a Quick Drop Page?
Quick drop pages are single pages with Entrecard widget that made to load quickly and display your widget and not much else. Many quick drop pages have just a widget, and maybe an ad or some other type of widget.

It’s very easy to track. If you think they can’t track it, you are way too wrong. You’ll be surprise how you can easily find them in the search engine.

If you have a quick drop page, you must take it down immediately before 1st July 2008 as they are going to terminate your account by then.

Ever found dead pixel when you bought a new LCD screen? If you do, I don’t think the place where you buy it will do anything to it unless there are more than 3 or 5 if not mistaken. If there’s only one, they would ask you to live with it until when there are more showing.

I found out a tip that is quite interesting but not sure it really works or not:
These pixels can be fixed with a bit of gentle massaging. Using a soft material (such as a lens cleaning rag) to protect the screen, gently rub the dead pixel in a clockwise motion for 30 seconds.

Try it and do let me know.

I’m sure many of you check your personal email at work. Most people used webmail but some prefer to use Outlook to receive your email. If you are the kind that rely on Outlook, here’s a simple tip that is very useful to ensure your privacy.

1. Create a .pst file (In Outlook) on the thumb drive.
2. From Outlook, click file, new, outlook data file, outlook personal folders file, and then it point to your thumb drive.

With this, when you are in your office, you can access your personal email safely. Remember to remove your thumbdrive when you leave your office else it serves no prupose to it. *LOL*

The good thing is that you can point Outlook to this file from any machine with Outlook installed. You” get an Instant Portable Email! Great for travellers.

MYNIC had upgraded its Whois Service on 4th June 2008 at 8.30 am. With this new Whois Service, the query limit will be increased from 20 per hour to 500 per day from the same IP.

Now we don’t have to suffer the 20 per hour quota. Sometimes we really have problem waiting for one hour to pass by. The quickest way is to restart your modem hehehe… At least with the 500 queries per day will be easier.

Here’s one tips that you might find helpful:
To keep all your electronic cables in order, make sure label each cable of the new device with a strip of white tape or Scotch tape over a piece of paper such as “cell phone charger”, “digital camera to computer”, :scanner to computer”, etc.).

This will surely make you less miserable and save time.
